Hounds Volunteer with Special Olympics

Ten Greyhound Women's Soccer players spent Saturday volunteering at Special Olympics Indiana's annual youth basketball tournament held at UIndy! Players led games for the athletes to play in between their tournament games, managed equipment, kept time, helped host a basketball skills competition, and took pictures at the tourney. The Special Olympians were not the only ones who created memories for a lifetime at the event ... it was a memorable and worthwhile experience for all the volunteers as well.

Black and Red

We weren't kidding about those rap battles on away trips . . .

"Black and Red" written and performed by freshman Greyhound Nicole Duncan aka N deezy

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
When we kick the ball, we kick it big
Yeah, uh huh, we act like its nothin'
When we in that weight room, boy that's stuntin'
We rep Indy and around, you know where we be
Black and red, black and red, black and red, black and red
We score some goals, then we stop you with some killer 'D'
Black and red, black and red, black and red, black and red

We got the running, we got the weights
You may be scared of us, but you know we ain't
Soon as we hit the field, we check your face
Other teams, man, they just cant keep our pace
When the whistle blows, you know we scorin'
On the edge of your seats, we ain't never borin'
We got the teams checkin' schedules
They hope that they don’t play us, 'cause we on another level
Hear them haters talk, but there's nothing you can tell 'em
We just won the game, got some more of 'em on the schedule
We see you're scared, and we 'bout to break your hearts
We thinking championship as soon as the game starts

[Chorus]

Got a call from my jeweler, this just in
Talking 'bout getting some championship diamonds
We ain't slowin' down, and we're on a roll
This ain't one game, we shinin' all season yo
We sippin' Gatorade and rockin' Nike gear
We've won so much, all our fans do is cheer
Yeah they scared, so they're all runnin'
You jealous 'cause you know we're Greyhound stuntin'

[Chorus]

Keep scorin' like we're supposed to do
That crowd in the stands is reppin' our crew
And all of us look unapproachable
We're the flyest team and oh so mean
We are the coolest cats
We tear up the stats and write killer raps
And that’s that, bizzo slap
We let you try as hard as you want and you feel that
But you know you're gonna lose and we pilin' on the stats like

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
This is Greyhound soccer man
Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Y'all ready know what it is, check the jersey number
We rep Indy and around, you know where we be
Black and red, black and red, black and red, black and red
We score some goals, then we stop you with some killer 'D'
Black and red, black and red, black and red, black and red

[Chorus]
