Blogging for Dummies

I speak for my fellow juniors and myself when I say that it’s hard to believe that we are entering our last spring season and in a matter of a few months will be ending our careers as Greyhound Women’s Soccer players. It seems like just yesterday that we were freshmen running around campus searching for rubber ducks on a scavenger hunt (yes … I know some of you remember this), and now, we’ll soon be stepping on the field for senior night. For us, this blog is an opportunity to document our last year as Greyhounds, the high points as well as the struggles in our battle to win every game, capture a GLVC Championship, earn an NCAA bid, win a National Championship, and most importantly grow as individuals and as a team.

But this is not all about the upperclassmen.

When Kiley asked me if this is something that we would be interested in taking on, I jumped right on board. What you miss when you read our box scores and articles recapping our games are our personalities, the rap battles that happen on away trips, the cheering heard in the gym when we’re doing stair relays at 6:45am, our successes in the classroom, our running the “rainbow run” in front of UIndy students in Smith Mall, our crowning of our own Homecoming (aka Awaycoming since we were on the road Homecoming weekend) queen, and so much more. So, not only will this be an account of how and when we beat our rivals, but it will also follow us in our endeavors off the field.

Each of us will have our own funny stories to tell, favorite moments to share, and talents to showcase, so I hope this team effort will be something you read and enjoy this season, and for many more seasons to come.

GO HOUNDS!
